December 27, 2023 — Heber City, Utah — Utah Artist Kevin Kehoe will participate in the 27th Annual Masters of the American West art exhibition and sale at The Autry Museum of the American West. This is Kehoe’s first year exhibiting at the prestigious show, which features paintings, mixed media and sculptures by contemporary and Western artists. Kehoe will exhibit four original oil paintings that embody his contemporary take on the American West.
With more than 60 extraordinary artists, Masters is one of the most revered shows for Western art. The show displays artworks by nationally recognized artists such as Thomas Blackshear, Eric Bowman, George Carlson, G. Russell Case, Logan Maxwell Hagege, Jeremy Lipking, Ed Mell, Dean Mitchell and Terri Kelly Moyers.
“It’s hard to put into words what this means because I am hanging with painters who have served as great inspiration for me for so long and in so many ways,” said Kehoe. “I will be hanging with my painting heroes and that is something that I will hold dearly for a very long time.”
Before becoming a fine artist, Kehoe had a successful 30-year advertising career, holding senior creative positions at some of the country’s most celebrated advertising agencies. During that time he lived coast-to-coast and in Park City, Utah, and fell in love with the West’s ability to inspire through its quality of light and majestic beauty. In 2011 he returned to Utah full time. Two years later, he devoted himself to his painting pursuits.
Southwest Art and Western Art Collector have featured Kehoe’s work, and Southwest Art profiled him as its “Artist to Watch” in its February 2018 issue. In 2016, his work was chosen to be half of the inaugural show for the newly opened Southern Utah Museum of Art and was juxtaposted with the work of Utah artist Jimmie Jones. In addition to private collectors across the country, his work has been acquired by the Booth Museum of Western Art and The State of Utah where it hangs in the Governor’s Mansion.
Kehoe likes to say about his life as a painter, “I have the West in my blood, and I’m better off for it.”
He is represented by Gallery MAR, Park City, Utah; and the Mark Sublette Medicine Man Gallery; Tucson, Arizona. For more information, visit kkpainter.com or follow him on Instagram.
