It’s time to board the 90-minute round trip Heber Valley Railroad Wizard’s Train. All passengers will get sorted on board with the Sorting Hat and you will be served a delicious chocolate frog. And if you’re brave enough, you’ll have you try the Bertie Botts Every flavor Beans. Staff will be dressed as popular movie characters and will entertain you during the train ride, including trivia, games, great photo opportunities, and other surprises. Don’t miss this fun, family-friendly experience. Snacks are available for purchase from the concession car during the train ride

This 90-minute round trip ride is through the south Heber valley and along the shores of Deer Creek Reservoir. This noisy train ride includes sing-a-longs, and occasional dance parties. AND, be sure and arrive early to experience the Old West gunfights prior to boarding at 6:40, AND the Wasatch Middle School band will perform at the platform prior to the Old West gunfight (6pm)!

Party with us on our first annual Renn Faire Train! Dress up in your finest renaissance garb and join us on this fun, family-friendly, 90-minute ride on the historic Heber Creeper. We’ll have some interesting characters on board, and there will be great photo opportunities at the depot before the train from 6:00 – 6:45 PM. Plus, we’re sponsoring the Wasatch High School’s Renaissance event at the high school. Following the train ride, take the short 5-minute drive to Wasatch High School and enjoy the FREE concert featuring the Irish Rock Band SWAGGER! Make a renaissance evening of it with this fun train and rock show.

Join us for a fun Comedy Murder Mystery train ride. Your ticket includes a two-hour ride and an entertaining “who-done-it” that includes audience participation. Arrive by 6:40 pm to “meet the players” before boarding.

The Hot Summer Night Train is a fun and family-friendly 90-minute evening train ride through the Heber Valley and along the shores of Deer Creek Reservoir. This ride includes sing-a-longs, fiddlers, and other fun! A great date night or family group activity. Very affordable prices! Be sure and arrive by 6:30 to enjoy the Old West gunfight show before boarding. The train departs at 7 pm.

Join us as we celebrate the 59th anniversary of the historic March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, and Martin Luther King Jr. “I Have A Dream” speech. On board you’ll enjoy live music performed by the Unity Gospel Choir, excerpts from the speech performed live by Harry Bonner, and inspirational accounts of those in attendance that day. Tickets are limited – this train will sell out. We would suggest arriving early – at 6:30 pm and enjoy the images and information from that day which will be on display in the depot.
Note that you will be pre-assigned specific seats in a specific train car. If you are riding with friends or family who have purchased tickets on a separate order, and don’t let us know in advance, you will not be seated near each other! Join us to celebrate Mexican-American culture, music, food, and fun on the Cinco De Mayo Train. We depart at 7 pm sharp and will enjoy a 90-minute round-trip train ride. On board, you’ll enjoy music from Mariachi Los Pumas – a fun Mariachi band from BYU. The ride will include singing, trivia, prizes, and other fun. And plan on coming early – by 6:30 pm at the latest.

You can also buy a ticket to ride in the First Class 850 table car. This beautifully restored car has tables for 4.

You won’t want to miss this fun and family-friendly Old West Train event! The Wild West Days Trains includes a short, 45-minute round-trip train ride (except the 90-minute ride on Friday at 6 pm) on the historic Heber Creeper. Tickets are $15 for ages 12 and up and $5 for ages 2-11. Toddlers age 1 and under do not need a ticket. On board, you’ll be entertained by fun western sing-a-longs – and the Heber Valley Railroad Saloon Girls. And look out for the Old West – Heber Valley Train Gang, who might try and rob the train!

Join us for our annual Military Appreciation Train. This 90-minute round trip includes The Utah Military History Group on board. You can see authentic World War II U.S. military uniforms and gear and talk with the members about all things World War II. We will honor veterans on board and play vintage patriotic music. Arrive early and enjoy pre-boarding photos with the World War II group and other fun.

Before boarding, please arrive early for mingling and photographs around the trains and with the Utah Military History Group.

Love Star Wars? Put on your favorite character’s costume and join us on the May The 4th Be With You Train. There will be great photo opportunities with our cast of costumed characters. On board you’ll enjoy Star Wars trivia with prizes, themed music, games and fun.

Celebrate Utah’s Pioneer Day on our annual evening train on Monday, July 24. We’ll start the fun at 7 pm at the depot with live music by the Utah Old Time Fiddlers. Your ticket includes a fried chicken dinner, which will be served outside at the depot (7:15-8 pm). Dinner includes two pieces of fried chicken, potato salad, rolls, a Suss cookie, and soft drinks/ bottled water. At 8:15, you’ll enjoy The Saltwater Bunch gunfighter show, and then the 2-hour round trip departs at 8:30 pm. We travel to Decker Bay on the shores of Deer Creek Reservoir. After the run around at Decker Bay, the train will stop on the shores of Deer Creek Reservoir directly across the lake from the Charleston Fireworks. We will enjoy the fireworks from 10 pm until about 10:15, re-board the train, and return to the depot. Additional food and snacks are available for purchase in the concession car. This is a fun event for the whole family!

Your ticket includes dinner at the Depot, Old Time Fiddlers’ music during dinner, and a ride on the Historic Heber Creeper to watch the Charleston fireworks across the lake (Deer Creek Reservoir). Note: Passengers can get off the train and watch the fireworks on the shore of Deer Creek at our “Sparks” train stop. NOTE that de-boarding the train to watch the fireworks includes steep stairs and stepping onto our gravel platform. This may be difficult for older folks. Passengers can remain on the train and watch the fireworks from there. We will have folding chairs in the area where we de-board and watch the fireworks.

Also, you can rent the Luxury 100 Business Car for this ride for $4,000. It can hold 16 people. No children under 12 are allowed in the 100. Ask the ticket office for details!

Join us for the famous Heber Valley Railroad Broadway Show Tunes train! This 90-minute round-trip train ride includes music from your favorite Broadway shows, such as Phantom of the Opera, Hamilton, Les Misérables, and lots more. You’ll be singing along with them all! Costumes are encouraged, so do your best. On board, you’ll also be treated to live music, games, and prizes. Snacks are available for purchase in the concessions car during the train ride.

Join us for this unique vintage train experience. We have the historic train and we’ll provide photographers. You dress up in your finest vintage attire from the 1920s through 1950s. We’ll take pictures of you or your group around the train and depot from 6:00 to 7:00 pm, and then enjoy a 90-minute evening ride from 7:00 to 8:30 pm with more photo experiences on board the train. And best of all, we’ll make the images available to you. Limited to 150 total passengers. Take advantage of this unique opportunity!

Come and ride the Easter Bunny train. This fun and short 40-minute round-trip train ride to our Charleston siding includes songs, fun, and an Easter egg from our excellent hosts, the “Peeps.” The Easter Bunny will be there for pictures at the depot before the train boards. Just after each train returns, the fantastic magician Century Russell will perform magic at the depot.

Hitch up yer belt buckle, grab your hat, and join us for The Cowboy Train! The fun begins with an Old West Gunfight before boarding – just about 6:30 pm – so come early, cowboy! Don’t be late! We board the train after the gunfight and depart ON TIME at 7 pm. Remember, we leave on time – so don’t miss the training partner!

Our 90-minute round trip ride on the historic Heber Creeper some old-fashioned Western music and poetry, including the amazing Krazy Ani, Cowboy Poet John Conorroe, and a performance by the Copper Kettle band. There’s also likely to be cowpokes and desperadoes on board.

Get your Irish on for this fun and family-friendly St. Paddy’s Train! Our 90-minute round trip departs at 7 pm. On board, you’ll enjoy live music, including the Copper Kettle band! Includes singing, fun, and games. Family-friendly. (no alcohol). You’ll also be able to get your picture taken with the Leprechaun on board!

You can also ride in the 850 table/lounge car. It’s $160 for a table for 4. Your ride includes the same entertainment and surprises as general admission.

Bring your sweetheart on our Valentine’s Special – evening train. Tickets are sold individually but we assume couples are riding. Your tickets include cozy seating for two and a delicious charcuterie box for two. Sparkling cider, soft drinks, and bottled water are also included. Our onboard hosts will entertain you with music, trivia, and other surprises. Enjoy a relaxing and romantic evening on historic Heber Valley Railroad train coaches. 90-minute round trip. Dress up and join us on this 90-minute Halloween Train. Perfect for a costumed date night or ghoulish family outing. Departing at 7:00 pm, you’ll be entertained by costumed characters, including wizards, dragons, monsters, ghosts, and roaming zombies! Includes a locally made Suss pumpkin cookie.

Come and celebrate trains and the history of hobos with us on our Friday evening Hobo Train. Dress up in your best Hobo suit! The evening begins with our Hobo Train departure at 7pm sharp. On board, you’ll be entertained by the Mountain Strings band, and “educated” on the history of the hobo movement in the U.S. We’ll return to the depot at 8:30pm and gather around a campfire to enjoy wonderful music performed live. You’ll also be served “Hobo Stew” in a souvenir tin cup with a corn muffin and a soft drink or water.

Show your Independence Day spirit with a fun ride on the annual Freedom Train. We depart on time for these patriotic 90-minute round trips to Decker Bay—great music on board. Wear your red, white, and blue!

Ride the Peace Train! Celebrate the Summer Solstice with this great annual Heber Valley celebration!
Friday – June 17th and Monday, June 20th. On Friday evening, June 17th, the train departs at 6:30 pm and returns at 8 pm. After the train returns, there will be a FREE concert and dancing party at the HVR featuring the Flashback Brothers Band! Don’t miss this!
On Monday, June 20th, our totally groovy Summer Solstice Evening Train departs at 7:00pm and returns 8:30 pm. Tickets are $15 for General Admission, or $25 for a ride in one of our luxury restored coaches.

This great event includes a 40 minute round trip train ride to Charleston and back, with themed fun on board!

Lakeside Limited will temporarily be a 90-minute round trip to Decker Bay, instead of a 120-minute round trip to the Deer Creek Dam. This is due to some track repairs not yet completed. Climb aboard for this relaxing train ride along the shores of Deer Creek Reservoir and the base of majestic Mt. Timpanogos. This “over the river and through the woods” ride provides a spectacular view of Heber Valley and breathtaking scenery. You might spot a variety of native wildlife such as mule deer, bald eagles, elk, coyotes, or foxes along the way.

Get on board the Heber Valley Railroad Super Hero Train! Get your favorite costumes ready, and don’t miss this one. You’ll enjoy a 90-minute round trip train departing at 7 pm from the Depot in Heber City. Before, after, and especially on board, you’ll have great photo opportunities with our costumed staff and entertainers!
They’ll have fun trivia and sing-a-longs to POP hits on board.

Enjoy a relaxing and entertaining evening ride and sample wonderful chocolate delights, including from local favorite Mrs. Calls Candies! You’ll also be treated to live music with local musicians. The ticket includes a 90-minute round-trip ride, with chocolate and other samples. You’ll also enjoy history, trivia, and other fun. Classic Rock-n-Roll and classic trains! The Rock-n-Roll Train is a 90-minute round ride on the historic Heber Creeper featuring great rock-n-roll music and trivia. A great date night! On the Rock-n-Roll Train, you’ll enjoy classic rock hits, test your rock trivia, and sing-a-longs. Food and snacks will be for sale in the concessions car.

This 90-minute round trip includes a Chinese New Year-themed ride, with trivia, music, tea, and fortune cookies. You’ll enjoy Chinese as well as traditional “western” music. Arrive early for the old west gunfight at the depot at 6:30pm just before boarding at 6:45pm. Family-friendly fun!

Join us for the amazing After Christmas North Pole Express! We will take you on a fun-filled journey to the North Pole and find Santa, and have him ride back to the depot with us! A family favorite – even after Christmas Day, this 90 minute round trip to the North Pole includes hot cocoa and Mrs. Claus’ famous chocolate chip cookies. You’ll sing along to new and traditional Christmas favorites on the way and be entertained by our hosts, elves and cocoa chefs. When we reach the North Pole Santa, even though he’s officially now on vacation, will join us for the return trip and greet each child and present them with a special gift.

Step into a winter wonderland! This enchanting 90-minute round-trip train ride whisks you away to the North Pole, where the spirit of Christmas comes to life. Savor the warmth of rich hot cocoa and Mrs. Claus’ famous chocolate chip cookies as you sing along to holiday favorites.
