Quick responses by Wasatch County Fire means two blazes were put out before they could damage structures on Monday.
Crews first responded to a fire near Red Ledges. Wasatch County Fire PIO Janet Carson reports that the fire size was about an acre, but crews were able to quickly put the flames out and contain the fire. She said no structures were damaged but there were a few homes within a few hundred feet.
After putting out that fire crews went straight to another fire at the rock quarry in Lake Creek near the Timber Lakes area. Crews were able to completely put out the active flames before going to work on hot spots. As of Monday evening, two tankers were on hand to put out the remaining hot spots.
No cause was determined for either of Monday’s fires.
