Heber City is bringing the community together for an evening of Halloween fun on Friday, October 30, with activities ranging from a new trail ribbon cutting and free trick-or-treating to live performances and spooky train adventures.

With three events taking place within walking distance of one another, families can enjoy an evening filled with costumes, candy, entertainment, and a little Halloween magic in the heart of Heber Valley.

300 South Trail Ribbon Cutting Kicks Off the Evening

The festivities begin at 4:30 p.m. with the official ribbon cutting for Heber City’s new 300 South Trail. The ceremony will take place at the southwest corner of Main Street Park, giving community members an opportunity to celebrate the addition to the city’s trail system and be among the first to walk the new path.

From there, visitors can head into the park for the evening’s main Halloween festivities.

Heber Halloween Fest Returns to Main Street Park

From 5 to 7 p.m., Main Street Park will host the Heber Halloween Fest, a free, family-friendly event featuring trick-or-treating, entertainment, activities, and local food vendors.

Families are encouraged to dress up in their Halloween costumes and enjoy an evening that offers something for a variety of ages. Activities will include:

Free trick-or-treating throughout the park

Carnival fundraiser, with tickets priced at $10 per person or $40 per family

Face painting and pumpkin photo opportunities

Mad Scientist demonstrations

Local food trucks and treats

Live performances from local dance groups and entertainers

Live Entertainment Schedule

The evening’s entertainment lineup features local performers taking the stage throughout the festival:

5:30 p.m. — Ground Control Dance Studio

6:00 p.m. — Wasatch Back Irish Dancers

6:15 p.m. — Wasatch Waspettes: Bride of Frankenstein

6:30 p.m. — Intensity Dance Team: Thriller

6:40 p.m. — Wallace Whaley: Accordion Showcase

With performances scheduled throughout the evening, visitors can enjoy the Halloween atmosphere while supporting local talent and spending time with friends and neighbors.

Take a Spooky Ride on the Halloween Express

For families looking to extend the Halloween fun beyond the park, the Heber Valley Railroad will offer its Halloween Express train experience, departing at 7 p.m. from the Heber Valley Railroad Depot, a short walk from Main Street Park.

The approximately 90-minute journey takes passengers to the haunted Grim Hollow station, where entertaining hosts and a cast of characters bring the Halloween experience to life. Designed with families in mind, the ride offers another way to make the evening memorable.

Tickets start at $35 per person, and advance reservations are strongly recommended.
