Man on Cross-Country Walking Trek to Visit Heber City

A project called 6 Million Steps for Kids was first conceptualized by Peter Munson in 2008 after hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado. Munson was drawn to the idea to walk across the country, speaking along the trek, as a way to raise money for organizations and ministries that help children.

This dream became a reality for Peter March 4, 2019. He left his job of 27 years as an Episcopal priest and began his walk from Folly Beach, South Carolina. Munson took the first of his 6 million steps that will eventually lead him to his final destination in San Francisco, California. He is hoping to raise a dollar per step for four different children’s charities.

Munson will be in Heber City from September 17-18. He is looking for local support in the area to help his cause. Those who would like to assist Munson in gaining momentum with his journey can visit his website here to learn more or to donate.
