Heber Valley Railroad Celebrates the 57th Anniversary of March on Washington and Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have A Dream” Speech with this Special Train Event.
“We are very excited for this special train,” said Mark Nelson, Executive Director of the Heber Valley Railroad. “We believe this significant hinge-point in history is important to highlight and celebrate. We share Dr. King’s faith that all of us are brothers and sisters and that our nation should be one where people are judged by the content of their character and not the color of their skin.”
The evening includes a special gallery of images and video from the event, which will be displayed in the railroad depot from 6-7 pm. The onboard program includes historical trivia and highlights, poetry, music, and presentations of portions of Dr. King’s speech, as well as reflections of people who were there that important day.
The Gospel Unity Choir, led by Debora Bonner, will perform and interact with the audience on board. Tickets are $15 for the two-hour round trip, which departs at 7 pm and returns at 9 pm. First Class tickets are also available. Tickets can be purchased at hebervalleyrr.org or by calling the ticket office at 435.654.5601.
