After months of work the new Heber City Dog Park will have a grand opening this weekend.
The updated Boneyard dog park at Muirfield is located at 750 North 200 West in Heber. New amenities to the park include two separate runs for large and small dogs, play features, water stations, and human restrooms. City Manager Matt Brower explains what the public can expect from the event.
“The ribbon cutting will take place at 10:00 o’clock,” Brower said. “Following that we’ll have all sorts of competitions including Strut your Mutt. We have vendors there that will have various wears for animals as well as food to sample. So, the actual event goes from 10:00 to 1:00 o’clock this Saturday and hopefully I’ll see you there.”
The dog walk competition will feature prizes to be awarded in a variety of categories.
The new dog runs are just one phase of plans to improve the park. The area will eventually have a pavilion, playground, pickleball and basketball courts.
