Around 7:00 on Friday night, Wasatch County 9-1-1 dispatch began receiving calls about a fire near the Big Hollow Shooting Range.
Big Hollow is located southwest of the town of Daniel. At last report from officials the fire was at 100 acres and was five-percent contained. The fire is mostly on Division of Wildlife land with possibly an acre or two of private land being impacted.
As a result of the fire the Big Hollow road is closed to allow fire equipment to work in the area. At this time there are no structures being threatened by the flames. Although crews are motivated to contain the fire quickly as the area has steep roads and limited access.
There are nearly 70 personnel on hand working on the fire including seven engines, a dozer and two hand crews.
The cause of the fire is not yet known and is under investigation.
