SUMMARY:Swaner Saturday Morning Nature Walks
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a nature walk on the Preserve with one of Swaner’s naturalists! We will explore wetland science, natural plant and animal species, and the history of the Swaner Preserve. Depending upon the time of year, lucky participants may see an abundance of birds, elk, or even nesting sandhill cranes!\nThis outing is appropriate for all ages and will take place on generally flat terrain with a slight uphill grade. Tall grass, uneven footing, and wet ground may be encountered and can be challenging for younger children and some seniors. Participants who do not wish to do the entire 45 minute to 1 hour tour are welcome to turn around at any time during the walk.\nTours will be capped at 15 people, walk-in’s are welcome, however, please register in advance if you would like to secure your spot on the tour.\nWhen there is snow on the Preserve, nature walks take place on snowshoes. Snowshoes can be rented from the EcoCenter if needed – $2.50 for members, $5 for non-members.\nPlease come prepared for the weather. In the Spring, Summer, & Fall plan to come with sturdy shoes or boots, long pants, water, and sun gear such as sunscreen, sunglasses, and hats.  In the Winter, plan to come with snow gear, such as boots, snow pants, hats, gloves, coat, Sunglasses, and water bottle.\n
